For your website to show up at the top of the list of websites shown by the search engines, some criteria should be met. The first of them is appropriate keywords. You can acquire keywords, which are long tail and relevant to your products and services through keywords research. Customer acquisition will then depend upon how well you use these keywords in your web pages to make it rank higher for the search engines.

Search engines rank your page and site based on several factors chiefly how you have chosen to weave your keywords in the content. Normal organic placement of keywords is preferred within the page, in the Meta tags and in the headings and links.

Search Engine Optimization or SEO means placing your keywords in strategic places in the text. This does not mean that you can stuff your text full of choice keywords in the hope that this will enhance customer acquisition. Rather, it would have the disastrous effect of pulling the search engine ranking down for your website.
