Top free video marketing websites on the web

The large number of free user generated video sites is proof of the growing influence of internet videos
for social, political, educational and economic reasons. Internet video can be a particularly effective way
to market one’s products online and get web traffic.

But the site where one chooses to upload their video can determine how successful the clip will be. That
is why it is important that one know the different sites they can post their video and choose the ones
that will best align to their marketing strategy. The following are just some of the more popular internet
video websites:


YouTube.com – YouTube is the undisputed leader for user generated video both in terms of the level of
page views as well as the sheer quantity of video clips. YouTube is today one of the top four most visited
sites in the world. One must have Adobe Flash in order to view the videos but does not need to have an
account. However, uploading a video requires that one register on the site – creating an account is free.
Any business that intends to create a video for the mass market and plan get web traffic cannot afford
to ignore YouTube.

Video.google.com – Even though Google bought and now owns YouTube, the search engine giant has
maintained its original videos portal. Video.google.com however also doubles up as a search engine for
internet video on the web. So, if you planning to reach a large audience and get traffic to your site, you
have to put video Google as one of top priorities.

FaceBook.com – While FaceBook is not a video marketing website, the giant social networking portal
allows users to upload videos under their profile. Depending on the privacy settings on one’s profile,
such video may be viewable publicly or only to the user’s friends or followers. In addition, the site’s 400
million-strong membership has seen it become the number one originator of referrals to video sites and
an important source to get traffic.

Gofish.com – This site has traditionally been thought of as a platform for amateurs to test or polish
up their director skills. Gofish.com features short comedies, documentaries and even pranks. It is a
relatively easy site to use but has recently mainly become a magnet for gamers.

Atom.com – Atom.com was one of the first mass market, user generated video hosting and distribution
site on the internet. And even though it has since fallen behind in terms of web traffic, it still attracts a
large number of viewers. The site has a revenue sharing program that allows users to earn money from
their videos.

Flukiest.com – This is largely an Arts site – it is mostly used and frequented by artists, designers,
photographers, film directors and film producers. The site incorporates other features such as blogs and
email.

Myubo.com – This site is specifically designed to make it easy to upload videos shot using mobile
phones. The site is available in different languages including English, Slovak, Czech and German.
