CONTENT marketing in the overall marketing mix

Content marketing is considered as a trend in the online marketing system. It has become a trend in a way that every marketer or promoter in the internet involves this marketing system in their marketing mix.
What is Marketing Mix?

A business is consisted of the marketing mix which includes; product, price, promotion and place (ref: Wikipedia). It is said that your product should be “a tangible good and intangible service.” The price should be competitive. Promotion is about advertising, distribution or simply communication with the clients. The last “P”, would be the place where the consumers will get your products or services. Now, where does content marketing takes its place?
Content Marketing in Marketing Mix

Content marketing plays a big role in your marketing mix, particularly, in the promotion process.  It could great help in promoting your brand or product, in a nicer and more effective manner.
This type of marketing system uses useful or informative content to lead potential consumers to your brand or product. It uses content that the consumers are specifically looking for. This makes this kind of marketing strategy a more precise and effective way of addressing potential customers.
Why Use Content Marketing?

Here are reasons why you should use this marketing strategy and why this is continuing to become a trend in the internet.
• It creates a stronger bond with your consumers because this marketing system does not force or push your brand to consumers. It goes the other way; the consumers find you and avail your brand in their own free will. They look for your content because they need it not because you forced them to do so.
• It attracts the precise clients for your brand.  For instance, if you want to get readers or customers who are involved in the culinary industry, then you should make content that would attract people who loves to cook like “how to cook…” videos or an article about healthy cooking.
• It uses minimal effort. You can actually write an article for about an hour or two and post it in your blog. If it is good enough, it can attract hundreds of people, those people will share it to their peers and the chain reaction continues tenfold. This is one of the greatest advantages of content marketing.
• Absolutely no budget required – well, the only capital you will need here is knowledge, idea and high quality content. You can use different media platforms in the internet to your advantage. Social media sites like YouTube and Facebook are great examples.
• Flexible – you can use videos, articles, newsletters, eBooks, forum posts, blog posts, discussions and other forms of internet media. This makes content marketing one of the most versatile styles of marketing in the internet.
Promotion is a big part of your growing business. Without it your business is will remain unheard of in the tiny corner in the internet. So, to take advantage of resources and make the most out of nothing, content marketing is a recommended strategy for the third “P” of your marketing mix.
